You read that right!! All you oily skin people out there, there are oils that are beneficial for your skin. It might seem weird to use oil on skin that is already so oily, but the logic is quite simple. We need an oil to trigger our skin into thinking that there is already enough oil on the skin so that it won’t produce its own oils. So in reality, we are tricking the skin into making oil at normal amounts while the oil we are using does its job.
Acne-prone skin can truly benefit from using tea tree oil. Tea Tree Oil is an antiseptic that will help kill bacteria. It will unclog the pores and glands, thus, drying pimples, blemishes, and removing blackheads. Be careful though because this can over-dry the skin if used too frequently. This will work against your skin and cause your skin to produce an insane amount of oil, resulting in a breakout.
I recently picked up Sonoma Naturals Tea Tree Oil Serum. This stuff smells funky, like a lab created formula, but when I read up on tea tree oil it does tend to have a stench. It came in a dropper and the directions said to apply before your moisturizer. Start with a drop and work your way up. This formula also contains Safflower Seed Oil. This oil also helps the skin by cleaning out your pores of all the bacteria, resulting in less acne. It was so cool to see that my skin actually was less oily afterwards. My t-zone is the most oily and it was so much less shinier in the mornings. I use this in the morning as well as in the night before my moisturizer to see what potential this has for me. Along with My Current Skincare Routine and A Visit to my Dermatologist this product, for the past 2 weeks, has been great!!!
As I have stated before, I have used this for the past 2 weeks and am so pleased to say that this oil is great. I really love how my skin feels after this. It is so soft but not slippery-greasy. I also like that is has made my skin look so much smoother and plump. I would recommend everyone to try tea tree oil for themselves. I am also curious in different brands such as The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Anti-Acne Skincare Products. They actually have an entire line including face wash, masks, and the oil.
Another tea tree oil that many people I know have tried and swear by is the Desert Organic Tea Tree Oil. This brand also has an entire range of tea tree oil products. Many people have said that this small bottle is their miracle worker. I personally have not tried this, but many have said that in a few days of using this their skin has drastically improved in texture and that their acne is GONE!!!!
One way of using tea tree that is less harsh on the skin for some is a cream. Derma E Tea Tree and Vitamin E Antiseptic Cream. I have read reviews about it claiming that this also soothes and hydrates the skin while removing any bacteria on your skin. The vitamin E helps with the hydration and is great for the skin too.
Tea Tree Oil has done wonders for my skin and I will continue to use this. I also just might pick up the other products mentioned as well, after all, the miracle oil is in all of them. 🙂
