Homemade Brightening Mask

turmeric-and-yogurt

Ingredients:

• Turmeric

• Yogurt

Procedure:

Take a few tablespoons of plain yogurt in a glass or plastic bowl.  Mix only half a teaspoon of turmeric (also know as haldi to Asian people).  Mix this very well until the entire mixture is a light pale yellow.

Apply this using a flat foundation brush since it can be very messy with your hands.  Leave this mask on for about 10 minutes.  You can wash your face with warm water afterwards.  I love to follow this with a hydrating moisturizer or face oil.  Try this once a week and you will have glowing, clear, bright skin.

Benefits:

Turmeric is such a beneficial ingredient in this mask.  It is great for those who suffer from acne.  This will also reduce much inflammation and redness.  Turmeric is also great for acne scarring.  It can help clear your skin and also help with pores.  This is an amazing ingredient that can benefit your skin tremendously.  The yellow stain it leaves, when kept at a minimal, can give your skin an amazing glow as well. Yogurt contains lactic acid that can help the skin rid of dry skin and tighten the pores too.  It will also help in softening your skin and all the fine lines/wrinkles.  A combination of these two, and you have a power mask.

My Experience:

I love to use this when I feel my skin is lacking any lustre.  This mask has also helped keep my skin soft and I have noticed that after a while, acne marks are lightened as well. Currently, I have used the mask this morning, actually, and will be starting to use this once weekly for a month.  Since I have my acne in control, this mask is the most natural and effective way to clean up left over acne and any dark marks it may have left.  Last time I had used this was a few months back, and I had noticed great results so I decided to get back at it again.

Warning:

Just please be aware that turmeric does stain clothing and, if too much tumeric is added in the mask, it can also stain the skin.  Always start with very little because you can always add, but never remove an ingredient.
